According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, on Saturday a bull elk that has had a tire stuck around its neck for more than two years has finally been freed. Park rangers had to tranquilize the animal and then remove its antlers to make way for the large tire around the neck. Park officials said that despite the tire being there for so long the animal's neck was mostly free from injury apart from some hair loss and a small wound.
